First Family Outing

February 23rd 2014 -Sunday

Wow! What a great day it was....

I went to my church, hoping to see my family before they leave for their one year trip around the U.S. Well they didn't come, but at least the sermon and the music was good!

My Hunny picked me up with is two boys and we went to Dairy Queen for lunch. Tristan (4) warmed up to me fast this time (3rd time of meeting him). Such a sweet boy he is. Charles (9) of course has spent lots of time with the daddy and me, so he was his usual, fun self. Then we headed for the "zoo".

The baby fell asleep about 5 min before arriving at the zoo, so we drove an extra 30 min out so he could rest. We turned around and then headed to our destination, but ended up parking the truck on the side of the mountain to look at the beautiful scenery ahead. Hunny, Charles, and I got out and took some pictures...

My Hunny n me (I have squinty eyes here...darn sun!) <3

The we went to the zoo and made some more memories!

Our little family ;)

We really are a happy bunch, aren't we! :D Oh I can't tell you how much in love I am...We have so many wonderful adventures together, so many sweet memories.

On the way back we stopped by a fish hatchery, but we didn't see any fish -_- must have been too cold for them. We threw rocks off the edge and watched them bounce off the boulders and into the water. Don't worry, it was away from the fish.

At the end of the day we dropped the baby off with his grandma. His uncle was visiting so I met him and he teased "So when's the wedding?". Haha, well he's not the first person to make a comment like that. A few of his friends have. Guess our love just pours out so much, and our connectedness, that people assume we've been together for years (certainly feels like I've always known him)! Truth is, we officially became a couple on New Year's.

Donnie, Charles, and me went to the movies and saw Winter's Tale...such a strange movie it turned out to be, not at all like I expected. On the way out of the theater, I saw my ex's parents....awkward! Of course they're nice people and all, it just was...uncomfortable. They waved and everything, but I would have preferred not to bump into them, ya know.

Wow, guess what I found on the theater parking lot? A ring. It was a silver, Disney ring with Mickey mouse hands making a heart and a little bow to the side with 2 pink "diamonds".

We had dinner at a Mexican restaurant (forgot the name, but it was my first time there).

Then we dropped Charles with his grandma, because it was his bed time. Then he took me home. I gave him a late Valentine's gift, an album of all our adventures and a poster collage (11x14 in).

Then ended the night with a good night kiss :*

Tennis with the Johnsons

 February 16th 2014 -Monday

Yesterday was my first day playing tennis! The date started out a little different than planned (at least in my mind). The date moved from 1 pm to 2 pm. My Hunny was playing tennis with his family and still had his youngest with him. Long story short, I got picked up at 2 pm and wasn't in the best of moods (I blame my hormonal body for that).

After a quick bathroom break at a gas station, we arrived at the park. Oh my goodness, practically his entire family was there. His mother, "stepdad", younger brother, 4 nieces, 5 nephews, and his son...we basically took over the tennis court.

I watched the first couple games. I had never played before and didn't feel comfortable at first, considering I hadn't met his favorite niece (who is only...3 years younger than me) or his nephew. I sat over by his 3 youngest nieces, one on my lap.

I joined the game after a little while. It was so much fun. I sucked at first...I didn't really try is why. Then as I got more comfortable with everyone I hit that ball like nobody's business!! Towards the end my Hunny and I played one on one. We didn't really play by the rules, just hit the ball. Apparently I kept hitting the ball all over the place and making him run for it...he returned the favor....what a thoughtful man.

Hunny, his 4 year old boy, and I left around 5ish and dropped him off at his mother's house. The baby had fallen asleep, so when we got there, my Hunny unbuckled the car seat and carried the whole thing in! :D The mother was moving next door so (thankfully) I didn't get to meet her, but the grandma was there.

We drove to In-N-Out and got ourselves dinner. Took a picture, because it was our first time there together (and his first time there ever..at that particular In-N-Out). Went to get gas, and went "home".

We put on The Notebook, got some chocolates, and cuddled up in bed. The Notebook is a favorite of both of ours. Then we put on Hope Floats (never seen it before, and didn't get to finish it cuz we had to leave to take me home).

It was a fun, adventurous day with my Hunny and my Johnson family. I always have such an exciting time with him. We officially got together on New Year's and since then we've gone ice skating in Sac, went to Scandia, went to John's Incredible Pizza (my first), rode dirt bikes, went mudding, went on a bike ride/railroad adventure, seen a few antique shops, rode out to the buttes, and of course the usual (movies, dinner, walks, etc), and we are planning on going sky diving.

There was something my Hunny said yesterday that made me pretty hopeful that there will be a happily ever after in our future. He said "So you want to be with me forever huh. That means you plan on marrying me?" Of course my answer was yes. Then I asked him the same thing. His answer was yes as well. I know we're gonna be forever and always have that passionate, romantic love. We have talked on the phone ever night since 2 days before Thanksgiving (sometimes several times during the day), we write letters, text, message, and of course go on adventures together, with family, and with friends.

The best thing about him?....He shows, not just tells, that he loves me. I can see it in his eyes, feel it in his touch, and taste it on his lips. Oh I can't wait for the day we become one. I can tell you now (and I dare you to prove me wrong) that this man and I will get married and have a fairytale ending!

Stay tuned to see if my predictions are true! Happy President's Day and have a splendid afternoon!

A Valentine Adventure!

Wow! What an amazing day it was yesterday!

It started out with a job interview at 11. Errands till 12:30. Then I got home, quickly changed, had a salad for lunch, and got picked up around 1:30.

My Hunny and got some air for my bike tires at a gas station, parked his truck at the Government Center and began our adventure! We biked on a levee, on a path, and walked our bikes on a railroad tracks. We had decided to do something different from what everyone else was doing on Valentine's. We passed a cemetery (were going to go in and look at all the tombstones but the gates were locked). We had to get off the tracks before we arrived at our destination. The train was coming, so we scooted our booties out of the way and went down the levee where they had a bit of a dirt track. After the train left we got back up.

By the levee, on the way to the tracks

On the tracks to the bridge

We finally made it to his special place. It was a bridge for the tracks where he and some of his good friends (but mostly family) carved their names on the metal of the bridge "beams"....Then something scary happened! Another train! I freaked, but my Hunny calmly told me to go down the ladder on the side, there was a small area we could get out of the way, or go under the bridge. The train was so close and so loud and I was...scared we were either gonna fall off the bridge into the water, bridge was gonna break, or we'd end up deaf! Nope. We lived!

Then we carved our named with a drill.

By the time we were done, it was almost 6 and the sun was setting. The best thing about the day was that it didn't rain and we were able to go on our crazy Valentine adventure.

We stopped by for dinner at Carl's Jr. then headed to his place. And what a surprise I found there! My goodness that man is such a romantic! His room was all decorated with Valentine balloons, red streamers, heart candies, chocolates, and of course candles (he had someone light them right before we got there). It was so beautiful! Wish I could have taken a picture of the whole room...

We got comfy, put on Made of Honor, and cuddled up.

It was such a wonderful day...WOW! What a man!

Can't wait to see him again....TOMORROW! whoop whoop! :D

A Surprising Beginning

Donnie called me the night he got my number. We ended up talking till...1:30 am, then 4:30 am the next day. We decided to meet up and go to the lake.

                                 -----------------------------------------------------------------------

   December 3rd 2013 (Tuesday)

Donnie and I had such an amazing time! After class got out, I took the bus over to his work, go in his truck (where he had a pillow and blanket waiting for me) and got in. I waited for him to get off work so we could get our "hang out" started. Usually when one sleeps the time goes by so quickly, so I tried doing just that. Yep...that didn't work! I was too nervous...or maybe just too excited?

He got off work and headed over to the truck. We said our hello's, had a bathroom break, and we were on our way to Ellis Lake!

We walked a couple laps, all the while talking. I was walking on his right side (like I always do when I walk with someone). After about a lap and a half of laughing, star gazing, and having the time of my life, I reached over and put my arm around his,  think I must have used the "Brr it's cold out here" excuse during that moment. My Hunny did not think it was weird at all. He looked down at me with those handsome, brown eyes of his and smiled.

Neither one of us had had any dinner so we hopped in the truck and headed for Chili's.

After a delicious meal, we went down to Loma Rica to look at the Christmas light display they had there. There was an arm rest between us and I said, "Do you always have this down?"

"No, not always. Want me to move it?" He said as he put it up. He then suggested I sit over there if I wanted....and you know what I was thinking at that time?? Mission Accomplished! That's the way to go, leave the man hints here and there and hope he's smart enough to pick them up! So I scooted my booty over to the seat beside him.

It was still a pleasant drive :D It was somewhat of a bumpy road and him being silly by driving the truck side to side (like a drunk person would do). I kept bumping into him and our skin (arms) kept touching. I teased him about him doing that on purpose so I would bump into him, and of course he admitted that that was his intention all along.

It was 10ish when we got there and the lights were already off. Oh well, the ride was well worth it. Instead of turning around we decided to continue down that road and exit that way. We got to a part where there was a drop (like a roller coaster has), he stopped the car for a minute and we watched the city lights from up there. We looked at each other and oh man, I wanted him to kiss me so much...but at the same time I didn't know if I was ready to move on or not. This was supposed to be a friendly get together, not a date... He looked like he was thinking about that but wasn't sure whether to go for it or not. He didn't. Several times during the ride back he looked at me with those...capturing eyes.

We were on the second stop sign to turn on my street, when he looked at me, the clock, and decided to turn right instead of left. There was a river there where he told me he and his buddies sometimes fished. I knew of it, because I had rode my bike down that way. He couldn't believe that I lived so close all this time. We had time to waste and so we went down that road, turned around and headed back. He stopped at the stop sign and once again looked at me (lots of "looking" happened that day, it builds a connection I think). He leaned closer. I leaned closer. He leaned a little bit more. I leaned a little bit more. Our wet lips touched. Tenderly we kissed. It was a soft, sweet kiss. Not a crazy make-out one, but a slow, soft kiss.

He looked up and said "Wow, I didn't expect you to kiss like that. That was amazing. I thought, don't take offense, that someone your age would kiss....differently. That kiss was...."

  "Sweet, amazing...." I whispered.

  "Exactly." he agreed.

We kissed a couple more times and before we both knew it...we made it to my house.

The Meeting

Class ended and I was on my way to the bus . With one hand I wrapped my jacket tighter around myself as I carried a stack of textbooks with the other. It was 3:57 pm and the bus was going to leave any second. I picked up my pace and speed walked to the door. The driver looked down on me and shut the door as he smiled. I stood there...awkwardly. He opened the door and laughed.

"That'll be $5.00 ma'am," he said with a serious face.

"I smiled and shook my head. You'll be lucky if I give you a dollar! You almost left me!"

"Nah, I wouldn't have left you, I was just messin' with you."

Still smiling, I shook my head and sat down. He got out of the driver's seat and sat a couple seats from me as he opened his bag of Cheetos.

  "Break time?"

"For a couple minutes, then it's back to work."

I studied him as he took a few bites. He's been my driver before, twice. He looked about 30, had a white, friendly smile, dark hair with a little gray, and sunglasses. Wish he'd take those off so I could see his eyes. He seems fit for his age though, looks like he works out.

"You've been on the bus before haven't you? You don't usually wear glasses right?" The driver asked.

"Not usually. They're distance glasses, I really don't need them. I just wear 'em when my headaches start up. I'm kind of a mess actually, wind hair and and glasses on, I look better without them...I think." "What about you? You always wear those sunglasses? I don't think I've ever seen you without them."

"No, you look good with glasses, and your hair looks fine. And you're right, I don't need my sunglasses right now." He takes them off.

Wow, he's handsome...for an older guy.

  "How old are you?"

  "Guess."

  "30?"

"Yeah I'm 30," he says with a smile.

"For real? I guessed it right?"

"I'm 38 actually. How old are you?"

  "Guess."

  "Hmm, I'm gonna say you're 24?"

  "Yeah I'm  24." I said with a wink. "No, I'm 20."

"Well break's over". The gentleman then walks back to his seat.

"I don't know your name, are you even wearing a name tag?"

"Yep" he covered his name tag and glanced my way "I'm gonna have you guess, what do I look like?"

   "Josh? James?"

"Donnie. Hmm, you look like a Katie...?"

   I giggled, "Alyona."

"I don't know if I'll be able to remember that...never heard it before."

"That's because it's Russian. You can just remember it because I'm all Alone-ah. See? Nobody's sitting by me."

"Uh, that's a good way to remember it. Ok, I think I got it. Alyona. Hmm, yep, I'll remember that."

The conversation ended there, for at the next stop, a lady came on board and started talking to MY bus driver. They seemed to know each other and talked of traveling, kids, and relationships. I was looking out the window, but I listened in on their conversation anyway. Turns out, Donnie has two sons, 9 and 3. That's ok, I thought. I love kids. But surely he wouldn't make a move on me, he'll think I'm too young. I just know it.

I couldn't help and glance his way every now and then. Nah, he'll never go for me...I'm too young.

I patiently waited for our next encounter. The week went by slowly, as if it would last forever. I daydreamed about him, I doodled his name, and I daydreamed some more.

Friday finally came. I stood in line to get on the bus and looked through the window. Sure enough, Donnie was the driver! My heartbeat sped up. I focused on my breathing, trying to look relaxed so as not to make it too obvious. I stepped up into the vehicle and smiled. He returned the favor and asked how I was doing. We chatted for a few minutes.

It was almost Thanksgiving break and school only had a couple weeks left. I waited for him to ask for my number, but he did not. Nor did he the week after. I wished him a Happy Thanksgiving and got off.

I figured I had nothing to lose, school was going to end and if he rejected me then I wouldn't have to see him anymore...so I looked him up on Facebook. I typed in his first name. Multiple Donnie's popped up. Great. Which one is him? I don't remember if he ever told me his last name. I thought for a few minutes and typed in "Johnson". Two popped up...I clicked on one and realized it actually said "Johnston". Oops, wrong one! I clicked the second one and yippy it was him. I looked him up, feeling like a stalker, and finally after a moment's hesitation, sent him a friend request.

That evening he not only accepted but sent me a message telling me how it was a surprise, but a good surprise. Little did I know that that was the beginning of a beautiful fairytale...
