Our Mountain Adventure!

Yesterday we went up to the mountains, past Collins Lake, past Browns Valley and Brownsville, and over by La Porte. Donnie, his son, his nephew, and I, as well as his friend Bill, Billy, Sonja, and their kids, were on a search for a ghost town there, a city/town that has been abandoned.

We went over a bridge, a dam, and stopped to stretch our legs. We threw rocks off the bridge and watched them splatter down below. And of course we took some photos!

Then we really got up in the woods...got lost a couple of times....well ok, maybe more than just a couple, like five, but who's counting right?

Finally our friends and us pulled over again and they informed us that they only had a quarter of a tank left...well that was a bummer, there wasn't a gas station anywhere near! So they turned around and went to a lake we  passed and fished while we continued on to see if we could find this ghost town our friends were talking about.

On the way, we found another dam and took some pictures....

And climbed some rocks.....

We didn't find the ghost town but we did find the "view" that indicated we were going in the right direction. Of course Donnie and I didn't know where this ghost town was so we decided to go back...after a little fun in the SNOW of course!

Donnie attempted to make a snow angel...lol

That's right there was snow! It was so exciting :) First we found little patches here and there and then we found snow everywhere we looked!

We shoveled some snow in the back of the truck for the other kids to play with. But first, we played in some ourselves! Donnie used a Frisbee to shovel with...

Even built a snowman :D

Man the snow was deep on the road, just look at how little my feet look compared to this! By the way, we did not expect there to be snow so nobody brought any boots...

Then we went to the lake with the rest of the troop and did some fishing, had a BBQ, and of course shot some BB guns! First time for me. And might I brag that I shot the target (a soda can) on my first try! No no I don't have time for autographs, thank you, you are all too kind. ;)

Isn't the lake so beautiful...wow! *Lost Lake*

At the end of the day when the sun has set, it grew very cold, and my feet turned numb. I went to sit in the truck and ate my BBQ chicken. Donnie came up, turned the heater on, took off my shoes and placed them on his belly, and said "I love you". I smiled and said, "I can tell". What an incredible man....he'd put my freezing, dirty feet on his belly to warm them up...that is true love there for sure!

We went to his house, where I read the kiddos a bed time story, said good bye, and Donnie took me home.
